Do you ever find yourself discouraged?

Today I received the sad news that someone I used to work with years ago just passed away. She was maybe in her early fifties...She had battled cancer for several months and she couldn't fight it any longer, so she is now in her eternal resting place. She was a beautiful person and left behind a beautiful family. It got me thinking that life is so short and so precious and sometimes we tend to forget that. We are held back for various reasons and don't fulfill our destinies.. I am sure if you are like me, there are days when things you plan don't go your way, or maybe you helped someone and they did not appreciate it, or you had a great idea and your closest friend thought it was not so great, so you gave it up.... There are numerous disappointments we go through in our daily lives. When that happens think of this beautiful poem that was written by an "Unknown Author". It is one of my favorite ones.....It is called ANYWAY...............If we could only live as the poem says, our lives would be so much better.

ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered

Love them Anyway!

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives

Do good Anyway!

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies

Succeed Anyway!

The good you do today, will be forgotten tomorrow

Do good Anyway!

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable

Be honest and frank Anyway!

The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down

by the smallest people with the smallest minds

Think Big Anyway!

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs

Fight for underdogs Anyway!

What you spend years building up may be destroyed overnight

Build Anyway!

People really need help, but will attack you if you help them

Help them Anyway!

Give the world the best you have and it may kick you in the teeth

Give them the best you've got Anyway!

There may be no such thing as a "Cat person" or a "Dog person" after all

Up until a year or so ago I had considered myself being a "Dog Person". We always had dogs in our family, never a cat. However, this all changed one day when this cute, hungry, unkept and very 'talkative' little cat showed up in our patio and we felt sorry for her and started feeding her. Before we knew it she became our cat "Fluffy". So now, I have also become 'cat person' (which I never thought I would) and I love this little creature very much and worry about her anytime she ventures outdoors, especially when it is dark.

Well, according to a new study, that was reported in the LA times, they have found that matching yourself with a pet suited to your personality may be more important, than whether that pet is a cat or a dog. The study of 266 pet owners found that a majority of cat owners see themselves as having cat-like personality traits, such as being independent and being at the center of attention, while most dog owners believe they have the characteristics of canines, such as being friendly and social. Yet, not all dogs and cats have traditionally perceived personalities. There are friendly cats that want to be around their guardians all the time and dogs that don't crave constant attention. So, their advise on choosing a pet??.. ....If you are a 'cat person' seek independent pets that are also low on submissiveness-- and if you are a 'dog person' seek pets high on friendliness and low on dominance.

So there you have it. Next time you are contemplating on adopting a pet try to match your personality to theirs and don't worry if you should get a cat or a dog, you know that once you bring them home you will love them regardless!

Winners vs Losers

Here is a something I picked up from one of our conferences when I was President of the San Fernando Valley Telephone Pioneer Organization. I don't know who the author is, but here it is:

The Winner is always part of the Answer

The Loser is always part of the Problem

The Winner Always has a Plan

The Loser Always has an Excuse

The Winner says, 'Let me do it for you'

The Loser says, ' That's not my job'

The Winner sees an Answer for every problem

The Loser sees a Problem with every answer

The Winner says, 'It may be Difficult, but it is Possible'

The Loser says, 'It may be Possible, but it is too Difficult'

Which one would you rather be?

Have a Wonderful day!

Tention vs Relaxation

.........Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are!

Happy New Year

Well, another year has gone by. I hope it was a good one for all of you. Although we had some medical challenges in our family, overall it was a great year and we feel blessed when we know what other challenges people face around the world.

I'd like to start the year with a little story I read a while ago. It is called :

A cocoon and GOD

One day a small opening appeared on a cocoon. A man sat and watched for the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.

So, the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But, it had a swollen body and small shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly, because he expected that at any moment the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened!! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly. What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand, was that the restricting cocoon, and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening, was God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into the wings, so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as we could have been. We could never fly.

I asked for Strength and God gave me Difficulties to make me strong......
I asked for Wisdom and God gave me Problems to solve......
I asked for prosperity and God gave me Brain and Brawn to work....
I asked for Courage and God gave me a Danger to overcome......
I asked for Love and God gave me Troubled people to help......
I asked for Favors and God gave me Opportunities......
I received nothing I Wanted and received Everything I needed.......

I hope you have a Blessed, Prosperous and Healthy New Year and just remember that it's all about our ATTITUDE!
