May your holiday season be blessed with the true meaning of Christmas.
Preparing for Christmas can be a lot of work. There is the pressure of buying gifts, sending Christmas cards, decorating our homes, cooking, entertaining and traveling to see family, in the busiest time of the year. This doesn't leave much time to think about the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas decorations at the stores start earlier and earlier and many times before even Thanksgiving. The reason why we celebrate has totally been forgotten. Most people when asked why they celebrate, they say things like:
- being home with my family
- I got a Christmas bonus
- My children are visiting
- I finished all my shopping
- I am not celebrating anything, I am just staying home to relax
- I am going on vacation......etc etc....
Luke 2:10 The angel declares ....I bring you good news of great joy that will be for ALL people"
The good news of Christmas is worth celebrating for three reasons:
1. I bring "YOU" (it is personal)
2."GOOD news" (it is positive)
3. "For ALL the people" (it is universal, for everybody)
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year; full of joy, purpose and good health!
