The economy is certainly not worth risking our health for, so it is important to take care of ourselves during this stressful period and always remember that things are temporary. Some of us who are a little bit older, have been through some of these up and down economic times. In the meantime we can work on combating stress and here are some ways to do that:
- Get outside for fresh air
- Take a daily walk
- Ride a bike
- Eat healthy foods
- Get plenty of sleep
- Take supplements
- Read an enjoyable book
- Concentrate on the positive
Also you may want to try some relaxation techniques:
- Meditation
- Yoga
- Massage
- Deep breathing
- Study the Word of GOD
Last but not least, help yourself by helping others. Volunteering is another helpful distraction. Non-profit organizations often struggle in bearish climates when fundraising dollars tend to decline. Food banks, for example, have seen a notable increase in the number of people needing assistance to help feed their families. Animal shelters have also been particularly strained this year because they have received an influx of abandoned pets from people who are experiencing financial or housing problems. These organizations can use our helping hands.
We are commanded by God to sow Good Seeds into the lives of others.Proverbs 3:27 says: " Withhold not good from whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it" ....and Galatians 6:10 says: "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith". Somebody needs you today. Sowing Good Seed is giving something to God in expectation that he will multiply it back when you need it the most.
Let us all have a great week by taking care of ourselves, relaxing and landing a helping hand where it is needed!
